Guys Getaway – Spring 2022

Forge the Way,

The Challenge to Persevere
Romans 5:3–5

March 4–6, 2022

Join us to worship with fellow men of faith.
Guy's Getaway retreats at Fort Caswell aim to challenge men to act in accordance with Biblical standards for living and mastership as they lead their own lives, that of their family, and the local church. Fort Caswell provides a space for men to come together in fellowship, to share in their daily hardships, and to encourage one another in their walk with Christ.
Romans 5:3–5
"Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us."
-"Suffering Produces Endurance"-
At this event we are challenging men to persevere through the modern hardships of life, their suffering, reminding them that God is still active through them, and will bring them strength through the storm. Christ enables men to Forge the way towards Biblical Manhood, and set the path for Christian living for those around them.
Price is: $168.00 per person and includes two nights, five meals (Friday dinner–Sunday breakfast). Please print and mail the registration form below to join us. Call our reservations staff if you have any questions.
Come to the coast, stay for the fun, leave with renewed strength.

Program Featuring:

Speaker: Mike Penry

Mike Penry is the police chief at Wake Tech Community College in Raleigh, NC, and a former deputy with the Wake County Sheriff's Office.  While serving in law enforcement, Mike also served as a bi-vocational pastor at The Revolution church in Raleigh for 13 years.  He now preaches at churches across North Carolina and speaks at various conferences.  He is a graduate of High Point University and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.  Most importantly, he is the husband to Ginny and the dad to Alaina and Holly.  Being a husband, dad, pastor, and cop has given him very unique experiences in both life and ministry that he likes to bring alive when he preaches through God's Word.

Music: Josh Tomasek

Josh Tomasek grew up in North Carolina and moved away from the area after graduating from Liberty University with a degree in Worship & Music. He met his lovely wife, Lin, in Birmingham, Alabama where they continued in ministry together in Colorado and Virginia. When he is not at the church playing a musical instrument, you can find him on the porch or in the sunroom talking with his wife, playing a round of golf, or filming a wedding. Josh loves the family atmosphere of Beach Road, how people are eager and willing to help one another, to listen to each other, and to encourage one another.
