Easter Sunrise Service

Fort Caswell will open its gates at 5:30am on April 5th to the public for the annual Easter Sunrise Service. The outdoor service will begin at 6:30am by the waterfront of historic Fort Caswell. All residents and visitors are invited to attend this community service. Music will be led by Russell & Kristi Johnson and Ron Allen will provide a message. In the event of rain, the service will be held in Hatch Auditorium. Bring chairs or blankets for outdoor seating. No pets are allowed.

Speaker: Pastor Ron Allen

Pastor Ron Allen is a pastor, preacher, speaker, and writer from North Carolina who serves on staff at Southport Baptist Church. He has spent years investing in students and adults through preaching, teaching, mentoring, and pastoral ministry. His heart is to share God’s Word in a way that is clear, faithful, and encouraging. Ron also writes to strengthen the church, encourage believers, and point people to Jesus. He holds an M.Div. in Pastoral Care and Counseling.

He is married to Joanna, and together they have two sons, Trace and Gabriel. Ron deeply values faith, family, and the calling God has placed on his life to serve others with truth, compassion, and hope. In his time with family, he enjoys riding bikes with his wife and youngest son, prayer walking in nature, and surfing with his oldest son.

Worship: Russell & Kristi Johnson

As worship leaders, Russell and Kristi combine passion and energy. This incredible couple has dedicated their lives to giving glory to God through their music & ministry. Their inspirational music touches the lives of those around them so intimately that it stirs souls and moves hearts closer to God. Originally from Conway, SC, Russell, and Kristi have been musicians all their lives and in ministry together for more than 20 years. They met in college at Coastal Carolina University and were married a year later. They have a son, Will, and a daughter, Sidney. They reside in their hometown of Conway, SC where they enjoy life on the family farm when they aren’t on the road.
