Overnight Field Trips

An Overnight Trip is a great option for school groups wanting to experience more activities all in one place and/or see the local surrounding sites in the Cape Fear Region. Students will rotate in groups through three activity stations in three hour time blocks, either in the morning and/or afternoon. Not only can your students learn about estuaries and ocean life during the day, but they can also participate in our optional evening programs, which include Ghost Crab Hunt, Bonfire and S’mores, Pirate Scavenger Hunt, and History Hayride.

Our campus is blessed to have many amenities and recreational options for our guests. Students and teachers can use the gym for basketball and games, play mini-golf, hangout at the Drift Inn, and take a dip in the pool.

Program Pricing:

$12/Student for 3 Activities (1 set of 3)

$24/Student for 6 Activities (2 sets of 3)

$5/Student for an Evening Program

$29/Student for an Extended Day (7 Activities – 2 sets of 3 + an Evening Program)

Chaperone Fee: 2 passes per classroom at no additional charge. All others will be $10.

If your group is staying overnight on campus, a 1:8 Chaperone/Student Ratio is required.

Group Capacity

Our goal is to provide the best learning experience for your students. To achieve that, we suggest a 1:5 chaperone/student ratio for all our field trip groups. However, if you have 100 students or more, your group will be required to adhere to the 1:5 chaperone/student ratio. For example: with 100 students you may only bring 20 chaperones.

Group Minimum is 15. Group Maximum is 180. If your group is larger than 180, please contact us for available options.

The Maximum at each Activity Station is 30 people.

Safety

For the safety of your kids and our guests, you must provide a list of all people driving separately from the bus. This list is to be submitted in advance, no later than 24 hours prior to your field trip. Please list the first and last names of your chaperones who are driving separately, and have them divided by Classroom Teacher. The gate guard will check the list for chaperones to be allowed entrance to our facility.
