Single Day Field Trips
Day Trips are available for school groups ranging from 15 to 180 people and are offered September – May. We ask for a minimum of 4 ½ hours to provide a quality field trip experience. Based on the group size, students are divided into smaller groups and rotate through four or six educational stations with an emphasis on science and social studies. The stations are located on the beach, in the marsh, in the fort, and/or at the Cape Fear Education Building.
Teachers will work with our staff to select activities that are tailored for their student’s needs. We offer 30 different activities for grades K-12.
Non-Brunswick Co. $18/Student $10/Adults
Brunswick County $15/Student $10/Adults
Chaperones: 2 passes per classroom at no additional charge (for example: the teacher and an assistant per classroom can attend for free). All others will be $10. So with 100 students in 4 classrooms, we would give 8 passes at no additional cost.
Spots fill fast, so book your field trip today! Fall and spring field trips are typically booked six months to a year in advance.
Our goal is to provide the best learning experience for your students. To achieve that, we suggest a 1:5 chaperone/student ratio for all our field trip groups. However, if you have 100 students or more, your group will be required to adhere to the 1:5 chaperone/student ratio. For example: with 100 students you may only bring 20 chaperones.
Group Minimum is 15. Group Maximum is 180. If your group is larger than 180, please contact us for available options.
The Maximum at each Activity Station is 30 people.
Groups with 15-120 people will participate in 4 Activity Stations.
Groups with 121-180 people will participate in 6 Activity Stations.
For the safety of your kids and our guests, you must provide a list of all people driving separately from the bus. This list is to be submitted in advance, no later than 24 hours prior to your field trip. Please list the first and last names of your chaperones who are driving separately, and have them divided by Classroom Teacher. The gate guard will check the list for chaperones to be allowed entrance to our facility.
