Coastal Education and Adventure Programs

Fort Caswell encompasses 248 acres of historical structures, salt marsh, beach and maritime forest. Located on the eastern tip of Oak Island where the Cape Fear River meets the Atlantic Ocean, the region is steeped in maritime culture and natural history. Rich in beauty, Fort Caswell offers security unmatched by hotels with recreational options and customized meal plans to suit all your group needs. Come discover the rich ecological and historical significance of the region through engaging outdoor and hands-on learning. Educational programs have been correlated to North Carolina Course of Study Science Standards for public classrooms. All of our courses are flexible to accommodate a variety of age groups and classroom goals. Team building skills are incorporated into each program, with depth of material determined by age group. Educators may choose from one of our pre-packaged courses, or pick and choose activities to suit their classroom needs.

Are you a Math, English, or other non-science teacher? Our classroom and outdoor facilities are available to educators who prefer providing their own program agenda. Furthermore, gracious and affordable accommodations make Fort Caswell a perfect place for hosting Continuing Education Units workshops. Whatever your educational goals might be, Fort Caswell can custom-fit your next day or overnight outing!
